Hi! Loving my memory planner as a way to record Christmas memories. This year the entire month of December became Christmas memory planner pages, because the month started out with a trip to Universal Orlando and Disney World. My memory planner is a great way to capture the holiday season and this fun trip!
Alternative to December Daily
The month of December in my memory planner is a great alternative to a December daily, because it takes the stress of out taking daily photos. If I have a photo great, I add it, but if I don’t then I journal about the day.
I don’t feel like I have to do a fancy layout on my Christmas memory planner pages, so the whole process of recording the week goes so much faster. Plus I’m not doing a full page everyday, just a section in my memory planner, so it’s much faster. Christmas memory planner pages frees me up to do more story telling in a fun way, because the pages and process are so much less formal than pocket pages.
Additionally, the month at a glance page gives me a view of the entire Christmas season, while the weekly pages capture the highlights in only 5 spreads. Oh so much simpler for me than doing a December daily.
A Fun Trip then Christmas at Home
A friend who lives in FL has encouraged me to see the parks at Christmas for several years, so I decided this is the year! It was fun to spend some time with her and to see the parks all decorated for the holidays.
Christmas Memory Planner Month at a Glance
What a month full of fun! Love how the month at a glance page shows the highlights of the month in one spread. Overtime my approach to memory keeping in my memory planner has evolved. I find that I now place fewer photos in my planner which allows more room to journal. I want to save not only the photos, but the story behind them.
A week of both getting ready to leave for vacation and being at Universal Orlando.
A time to tying up loose ends at home, then total fun the second half of the week. The Travel collection works perfect for both getting ready and my first few days at Universal Orlando. The oversize labels provide plenty of room to journal, while the globes say Universal!
Universal then Disney
Oh what a fun way to start the holiday season! A few more days at Universal, then off to meet up with my friend at Disney. Love all the special touches at the parks for the holidays.
The Christmas Joy collection is perfect. Love all the gold stars! The pockets are great for storing memorabilia from the trip. I accented the pockets with epoxy stickers and puffy stickers. The gold rice paper stickers along with the washi add a lot of fun to this spread. Micro stickers scattered around the spread add a bit of whimsy.
Two wonderful weeks in FL, then it’s time to head home. Back to the reality of life and getting ready for Christmas at home, which included watching a few of my favorite Christmas movies.
The Christmas Joy collection decorates this spread. I selected the multi color embellishments for this week, then added a few micro sticker clusters. The epoxy snowflakes and stars add a bit of dimension to the spread.
Christmas Fun at Home
Love capturing all the fun things we did on my Christmas memory planner pages. A TV show featured a near by house, so we had to stop over for a look at their Christmas display.
Red and green will always be the colors of Christmas to me, so I decorated the Christmas eve page in bright red from the Christmas Joy collection. Rice paper stickers form the boarder under the dates, while washi creates the boarder at the top and bottom. Aren’t those snowflake pockets beautiful! Flake stickers, with a micro sticker gold box form the larger clusters. Combined a puffy sticker with a couple micro stickers to label Christmas eve, then framed “December” with a sticker from the collection, a micro sticker and a couple puffy stickers.
Like Kids on Christmas Morning
We woke to one of those magical snow falls on Christmas morning. Three inches of snow covered everything, even the tiniest branch. What a wonderful start to Christmas Day! Yes, we were up early opening presents in our PJs. Later in the week, as the temperatures dropped to single digits, I was sure to get my donation to the food pantry.
Christmas green and holly from the Christmas Joy collection decorate the last week of the year. Love those holly pockets. Scattered around the spread are clusters of holly, Christmas trees and packages created from micro stickers, puffy stickers and stickers from the collection. Just love the large epoxy sticker holly next to “December.” And of course I had to add the holly rice paper sticker at the top along with the tree rice paper sticker at the bottom.
My Christmas memory planner pages are the perfect keepsake!
