Hi! Fall is here which means the leaves will start turning and it will soon be Halloween. Here are some before the pen ideas for fall and Halloween planner decorating.
October Before the Pen
I love the cooler days and crisp air of autumn. Here is how I decorated my planner for October.
The First Week of Autumn
Autumn is here, but the leaves are mostly green. I decided to use the Free Spirit collection to decorate the last week of September in my planner, because the colors are a nice lead in to the fall colors that will be here soon.
Now that the water has cooled off it’s time to put my swim suit away, and take out my hiking boots. The Outdoors collection is the perfect reminder that it’s time to hit the trails.
I like to create mini scenes by layering embellishments. Here are a couple of examples. In the bottom left corner a puffy tent sticker is layered on top of a tree sticker, then that cluster, along with a few stars, is layered on top of the plaid pocket creating a little camp scene. In the top left corner is a cluster of epoxy clips which create yet another cute camping scene. Finally, Monday morning has a forest scene created by layering a box sticker with a tent sticker.
The middle two weeks in October is when the trees are a blaze of color here, so the Autumn Woods collection is the perfect choice.
This week I focused on using all the leaf decorations, because it’s usually the week with the best color here. I created a cluster with the puffy sticker fox and a couple leaf flake stickers, then added it to the leaf print pocket. The leaf epoxy stickers add lots of dimension to the planner spread, as do the puffy stickers.
Here I featured the animals in the Autumn Woods collection, because they are oh so adorable. Don’t the epoxy clip raccoon and puffy clip owl make a cute pair? In addition to being functional, the pockets add a lot of pizzazz to the planner spread.
I just love all the fun Halloween decorations, but not the scary ones. I don’t usually do many Halloween themed activities, so I decided to enjoy the holiday in my planner by using the Halloween collection. Thus my planner features 2 weeks of Halloween decor.
I love cats, so the first Halloween week features cats and witches. Love the epoxy clip black cat peering out behind the puffy clip witches legs. The Halloween collection washi and puffy sayings totally transform this page!
The second week features pumpkins, skeletons, and ghosts… oh my! Love the Jack ‘o lantern rice paper stickers. There are so many great items in the Halloween collection that I was able to complete both spreads from one set of supplies.
Love these October pages, and I’m so looking forward to using them to capture my memories.
Below are the planner products I used on these before the pen spreads. To make them easy for you to find, I have linked each of the items below. I personally selected all of the products used in this project. All products, except the Paper House Productions products, were purchased by me. As always, I am not receiving a payment for doing this project or writing this blog post.
